My cockatiel is 14 months old. The other day I accidentally closed the door with him sitting on top of it, and his whole crown was pulled out by the roots. He seems fine now. He looks a little funny. Will his crown grow back when he molts again, or will he always be bald?

As long as the roots themselves are not terribly damaged it will grow back.

Jimminy crickets!!! By the roots? did you comfort him afterwords? I am glad he is fine now, but I shiver to think how he felt at the time. I am glad the other responder said everything will be ok, but it still sends shivers cos if I miss a beat at scritching my tiels crown he has a cow and pecks my cuticles to no end. Would like to hear though if the crown on you tiel comes back.
