Treat this as you would any other burn. Clean the area with cold water and put on a "paraffin" based plaster - or specialist non stick plaster available from the chemist - take Paracetamol or Ibuprofen for the pain. If the area becomes swollen and red (angry) go and see your minor wounds unit at the local hospital (or even the chemist they would advise you if you need medical help or not)

Ice pack or a bag of frozen vegetables for the fingers and Ibuprofen for the pain. And don't pick the blisters!!

Friction burns can occur on any part of the body but these types of scrapes usually affect bony areas, such as the hands, forearms, elbows, knees, or shins. Scrapes are usually more painful than cuts because scrapes tear a larger area of skin and expose more nerve endings. Scrapes on the head or face may appear worse than they are and bleed a lot because of the ample blood supply to this area.

The friction burn should be cleaned and any dirt or debris removed to prevent infections.

Vitamin E helps. I had a similar rope burn when I was a kid and a woman I worked with told me to put vitamin E on it. You can get it in capsules. Just cut open the capsules and spread the gel on your burn. It worked for me.

Savlon for a medical approach, E45 cream if you just want it moisturised or calendula if you like natural remedies.
