the name Bloody Mary refers to Queen Mary the First of England, eldest child of Henry VIII. She was a staunch Catholic and launched a ruthless and bloody campaign against the protestants.
she was Queen of England, not Scotland.

No, I think it might have been named after Mary, Queen of Scots, who had the nickname Bloody Mary. If I recall, she was Catholic and fought against the Protestants (or was it the other way around). A Virgin Mary drink is just a Bloody Mary without the alcohol and has nothing to do with religion either.

No, it's nothing to do with any Mary's in the Bible. It's named after "Bloody" Mary, Queen of Scots.

Just because it has the name Mary in it does not give it religious significance.

Mary, Queen of Scots.
BUT WAIT!!!
Drink it without the alchohol, and it's called a "Virgin Mary"!!!
Isn't that great?

No. It got it's name from Mary, Queen of Scots. She was beheaded.
