I've never heard of some of these things that the others mentioned but I know to watch out for them now. My son is only 2.5 and I still control the TV. I have it on PBS for him mostly but he also likes Little Einsteins. I do not put Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network on for him at all - there isn't anything good for his age group from what I have seen.
My daughter is 13 and she loved "Fairly Odd Parents" and 'Proud Family" - I hate them! Especially "Proud Family" where the grandmother is always badmouthing her son to his kids. So rude. And the main character is a rude, nasty little thing.
"jimmy Neutron" and 'Spongebob" are two others I can't stand. And then there is 'Ed, Edd, and Eddy' on CN - Yikes!
Now my daughter has very limited TV privileges because of academic problems so I don't have the onus of seeing these atrocities.

My 3 year old son likes "Max and Ruby". It's on Treehouse and I can't stand it. I feel silly admitting to it but...
For those of you who haven't seen it, it's about 2 bunnies, Max and Ruby (a younger brother and an older sister). There are no parents around, they live by themselves with their Grandma living down the street. Ruby is constantly ordering Max around, buying his clothes, leaving him alone while she takes the bus to a friends, giving him a bath, etc... Her bunny scout leader makes house calls and I just find it really annoying!!
And while my son enjoys the show, even he asks where the mom and dad are and why is Ruby doing this and that? At 3 years old! I rest my case. lol
Now he's starting to get into Sesame Street and Kratt's Creatures. Much better and educational!
And he will do absolutely anything if I let him watch Wonder Pets!!!

I cant stand Fairly Odd Parents, Jimmy Neutron, and others Im sure. I wont let my little one watch Barney, or Doodlebops or the Wiggles. I just get annoyed. My older one and husband sometimes watch Avatar which I dont like either. I can deal with Spongebob though. I will watch that one with the kids.

Nope. Because, if I don't like it, they don't get to watch it. As long as it has good moral stories and isn't over-the-top gross...I just grit my teeth through it. THANK GOD they are out of the Barney stage. Hated that purple freak, but it was a far cry better than Ed, Edd, and Eddy or The Adventures of Billy and Mandy...the manners and stuff on there are horrible. Fairly Odd Parents always has good moral stories but they can get a little gross. I guess it depends on your opinion of the morals/manners of the show your kids are watching. It's up to you to cut off programs you find to be detrimental to their proper development.

My children are NOT ALLOWED to watch... Angry Beavers, Butt Ugly Naked Martians, Mr. Meaty, Ren & Stimpy.
There are my Top 4 offenders. But Fairly Odd Parents are mild compared to some of the others. Try PBS, there are more healthy cartoon on their station. Like Dragon Tales, Between the Lions, Arthur, Caliou, Curious George... which all teach good moral character, values, and lessons in every episode.

Not really. I usually find some redeeming quality in every cartoon. If I don't like it, I'll leave the room. Simple as that.
However, on our Cartoon Network collections DVDs, there is "Cow and Chicken". That has got to be the dumbest cartoon EVER! I hope they don't make that anymore!

Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, Oobi, Doodlebops, Lazytown oh, The Wiggles, i can't stand them, and fortunately, we stick to Noggin so my daughter's don't watch it, actually when i did put it on, they weren't interested.
They absaloutly love Blues Clues and The Backyardigans and we enjoy watching them shows too with them.
Of course, i'm sure my daughter (2y/o) doesn't enjoy it much when i watch CSI:Miami lol so i put up with Dora for her.
I remember Thundercats, my mum used to hate me watching Stingray, remember that show.....

My children watch Diego and it drives me crazy. It teaches them a lot of things but it's so annoying. Right up there with Dora. But I do tolerate it because it's better that I be annoyed than my children learn inappropriate things from other shows.
And what's up with Spongebob. Do they always have to show Patrick's behind or Sponge's? It's just inappropriate! I don't think I'm overreacting because I used to let my son watch that show until I saw him "spank" his cousin while playing. I knew he wasn't getting that from me. So Spongebob's out and my son's embarassing habit is out too!

I can't stand Spongebob Squarepants, at first it was cute because it was a different idea, but they play it so much-every time I hear the music I want to scream. When they were smaller Dora the Explorer drove me bonkers, the idea of it is so dumb but, kids seem to like it.
