Hebrews 10:25 says: "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching"

This is often sited as the reason for going to church, however when this was written there was no such things as church buildings, church services or pastors. So how can it be possible this writter was talking about a church service?

He wasn't...simple as that.

Most christians today have no clue that what they call church today if far removed from the church of the bible.

To meet together could be at a house, or a coffees shop to have a meal what ever. The weekly church meeting in the NT was at a house and held for eating a meal of food together.

What we do today is not even close, not even remotely close to what this verse was talking about.

How many other verses are misused in this same way/

Because there were synagogues, religious services, and rabbis. They are mentioned in the Bible. Luke 4:16 recounts that Jesus "went to the synagogue, as his custom was, on the sabbath day." The early Christians were quite familiar with such things.

You are so right starting out but lose me at the end. Yes early Christians did meet in homes and would have meals and most likely communion. They most likely encouraged one another and compared notes on how they were getting people saved. A place where you get your spiritual battery recharged as I have heard some pastors say. Church is a place to come together as one body and one family, to worship God. Church could be as small as two or three people or as big as thousands of people. So I don't see what you are really saying. Churches grew and they had to find biger places to fellowship. Today you find me a house that is big enough for hundreds if not thousands of people.

Matthew 18:20
20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them." (NRSV)

Christian believers are the church and the building is just a convenient place for them to get together as large numbers are catered for more easily than in peoples homes or cafes etc.

The church isn't meant in the Bible: the building or rock.
But it is whenever 2 people gather even under a tree, they make up a church. It is were God is found.
But I don't know if I understood ur ques, good

I remember a verse saying that " where ever 2 or more people come together in my name... " anyway that constitutes a church.
