It will not be easy without hurting her feelings, But please do not use the saying it is not you it is me. You know when my boyfriend broke up with me i would of love for him to have set me down and told me his reason. I would of handle it alot better than i did. If you do this maybe you will be able to stay at least freinds, Just be honest and up front with her tell her every thing if there is another girl involved or what ever your reason are in time she will respect you even more for the truth.

There is no easy way to go about breaking up with someone, if she loves you, then it is going to hurt, no matter how you do it. But there are ways that you can soften the blow. Just sit her down and tell her that she is a very special person, and that you have really enjoyed being with her, but you feel like it is time for both of you to move on, and that you would still love to be friends with her. I know that this sounds really generic, it is just an example though. The right words will come to you, just make sure you are tactful with your words. You don't want to come off harsh, but don't be vague either, let her know what is on your mind! Whatever you decide to do, just make sure you don't do any of the stupid sh*t that guys sometimes do, like just start ignoring her phone calls, or avoiding her, you need to break up with her your self, in person, not over the phone, not through someone else, not by email and not by text message. Stand up and be a man and tell her how you feel, she is going to be hurt, but you have the right to get out of a relationship if you don't want to be in it anymore. I hope I helped!!!

You haven't said how long you have been together and why you want to end it, it might of helped if we knew these facts but hey, lets have a go.You could tell her that it isn't any thing to do with her that you are ending it, that it is you, that you think she is a great/lovely girl etc,but you cannot sort out your head and that you need some time on your own.Don't tell her that she can ring you or any thing like that,as it gives false hopes to her.PLEASE don't let her see you with an other girl.If you get to the stage where you want to go out with an other girl at least let her know in a very nice way like, write a letter saying that you have now sorted yourself out and that you now know that you were not right for her and that you wish her all the best .

Apparently you misunderstand how "love" works.

There is no way that you are going to tell your girlfriend, "I am NOT THAT into you" and expect there to be no harsh feelings.

Grown people recognize that love is messy -- just like sex.

Love is a battlefield and everyone will get bruised, maimed, or hurt eventually.

It is the nature of the beast.

If you want to quit, do it quickly and cease and desist all contact after you do it.

Do NOT do a protracted break-up and NEVER break-up and then try to RE-UNITE -- that is an immediate recipe for disaster.

if she is into you then she will get hurt. But the sooner you do it the better. She will get over you and move on and the sooner she starts that the better.

Good luck, this is never fun.

Aint gonna happen. When you invest a lot into a relationship, it's gonna hurt when it ends.

Umm you don't. But it is better to tell then to keep it from her. It will only hurt worse later on.

tell her you got leprosy.

and she'll instantly dump you.

i said that, because it's impossible quiting without hurting her with no reason at all. just maybe if you're crazy enough, you can actually tell her that.

good luck!
