concerning christianity directly and simply???

I have asked many questions to christians and it would seem that every answer to ever question is "Jesus loves you, and died for you, and its all about faith".
Now I know their are some christians out there that dont do this. And I am wondering what your Opinion is concerning the christians that do this?
thankyou

These questions can sometimes be just so 'plain'. Many of the questions are in my Question and Answer list. And you will notice in the answers that many christians simply cant answer the questions they just go to preaching. Its unbelievable

Its interesting to hear you are an ex pastor. What do you do now? How long were you pastor for?
Also, If you were a pastor, does that mean you just left your flock to be pastored by someone else?
How does that feel?

Many of these christians are not just young people. Also what I meant with the answers was that they are not directly in relation to the question. I could ask "Have you ever seen a miracle?" And the answer could run like this "Jesus asks us to have faith in him, because he loves us. And so I beleive in miracles".
You see what I mean.... they just cant answer the question and say "Yes" (maybe give a brief description) or "No" (and explain their reasons maybe). Its usually something that doesnt follow the question logically. It makes me think that a vast amount of christians are in "la la land" when you talk to them. these christians are usually not young, they are mature adults. The young christians simply answer "yes" or "no". often

When they answer "God works in mysterious ways" it's to cover up "I don't have the slightest clue"

"Don't question god! I don't know the answer!" might as well be on the front cover of the bible...

I am an ex pastor, ex because being clergy I got to see behind the curtain and it aint pretty. The more I learned the more I realized how unbiblical the church really is.

Christians cannot answer in any other way(s) because they are taught not to.

You see if Christians get too wise about actual teachings of the bible they would leave the institutions, and then how does the clergy get paid? If you think I am wrong ask for verses about this and see if anyone of them actually and truly teach we are to have clergy and pay them, no the verses are taken out of context and twisted for that paycheck.

Yes Jesus does love you and he did die for your sins, but so what right? I mean all these well meaning people saying it means nothing to most people.

When God is ready to let you know, then you will. He is God and we are not. And it is all up to him when he decides when to drop in a say hello. Even the bible teaches this...

What Christians need to do is stop "going" to church and start "being" the church. Stop evangelizing with meaningless words, shut the hell up and start being the kind a loving person Jesus wants us to be.

I believe that actions speak louder then words.

Well there is my answer. Let God be God !

Studies done in Christian circles show that there has never been a time in Christian history where Christians were as ignorant of the Bible and what it teaches as there is now. Personally I am appalled at the answers that Christians give, such as what you mentioned. The Bible predicted that this age would come, calling it the "apostasy" (falling away), and the "lukewarm church". It says in 2 Timothy 4:3 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires..." What is most disturbing to me is that not only are they ignorant of what God says, but that they don't think that it is important that they do know the truth. I think one of the real culprits in creating this situation is that Christians have gone after experiences with God rather than the knowledge of God. The result of this is that things that cause emotional feelings such as music have replaced the teaching of the Word of God. Churches will spend hours of time in what they call 'worship" which is often nothing more than a music concert and never open a Bible. This is my opinion on what is happening.

Some of them do not know the Word of God enough to answer. They depend on someone who is Spiritually ignorant as a guide and do not know the Word of God themself. They teach the Word wrong, and do not have enough sense to know what the correct answer is, and they lead people astray with wrong answers. Today there is so much ignorance in the Pulpit it is pitiful. I know I have used the word ignorant a lot, but that is the truth. I DO NOT claim to know everything I admit, BUT I do use the Word of God to give my answers. I keep a Bible beside me and look up the answer if I do not know it. BUT one MUST understand what they read from the Word to give a correct answer. I have studied the original languages Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic for a long time, and IF one will take the Scriptures and go back to those languages they will find the correct meaning of the Word of God. All anyone has to do is get a Strong's Concordance to help them as it gives the original meaning to the words in the Bible that people use today.

Some have only been a Christian for a short time, and find it hard to answer.

I only have a short time to be here answering questions, but do my best to answer those that I fell lead to.

Years ago I was harassed to no end by a guy that was a member of the First Church of Satan. Every time he saw me he would cuss me out. I know this sounds funny but all I could think to say was,"Mike, God loves you". I laugh when I think of that today, how corny.

One day after Mike cussed me for all he was worth, I said, Mike, God loves you. He looked at me and snarled, God can't love me, I'm to evil.

A few weeks had went by and from behind me someone tapped me on the shoulder, it was Mike. I thought, oh no, not again. But his face looked clean, and with a big smile he said I'm born again. At first I thought he was trying to trick me, but he was telling the truth. He became a more powerful Christian, than I could ever be.

So sometimes little words have great power in them.

I cannot give an opinion about my Christian brothers and sisters concerning this, because I do not know why anyone besides myself does anything. I do know that I have answered questions with Jesus loves you plenty of times before. If the question is a nasty one, or it is a sarcastic one then I do. If i feel that the questioner has been sincere in asking then I will answer it to the best of my ability. If I cannot come up with a sufficient answer, then I will skip it. I do not ever want to give wrong information.

Friend do you know why these young Christians says things like this, it is because they are still on the milk of the word, as far as a Matured Christians, we can answer the complete question, If there is something, myself I don't understand, I will leave it alone until I can understand it, I have been serving God almost 37 yrs. now. So I am on the MEAT of the word & not the MILK of the word.

If I was to put a question in Answers asking people to explain the process of splitting an atom, most would not be able to give me a good answer. Most would say yes we can do it, they believe it, but they have no idea how it is done, nor have they seen it done. Many people believe many things without the deep technical knowledge required to explain it. Should Christians know more about their Bible in reference to the scientific worlds questions, probably so. But I should know alot more about math than I do (trust me, I suck at advanced mathematics) but do I believe that quantum Physics is for real,Yes, but please do not ask me to explain it! Not even sure I can spell it (spell-check thank God, or in your case, thank science would be more appropriate I suppose)

That is a great question, there is an entire Ministry devoted to such questions its called Apologetics it is the field of study concerned with the systematic defense of a position. Someone who engages in apologetics is called an apologist or an "apologete". The term comes from the Greek word apologia (απολογία), meaning defense of a position against an attack.

We are called by the Holy Bible to be able to give answers to questions and not to simply state "He has a plan" or "Because Jesus Loves you" thats a cop out. Your weekend Christians may not have the answers mostly because they belong to a congregation that does not acctually engage the word of God. This results in the weakening of folks faith that may be either borderline or possibly hurting individuals who are seeking a real relationship to God.

I feel that this type of Christian needs to adhere to the words spoken in scripture when Christ said, "Be it better that a mill stone was cast around your neck and to drown than to lead one of these little ones astray." Not refering to little kids but ones who are little of faith. It is every Christians responsibility to give a defending possition as to why they have such a faith, as I have stated in other Q&A's we are called to worship him with our MIND, Body and Soul he didn't come to bash your brians in and make a covenant with blind followers he tells us to renew our mind constantly and to give a testiment when ever asked to.

Many questions asked here, are from people who are sure they already know the answer.

Or, are sure there is no answer.

They waste the time of people who really want to know something, and the time of those who could give them the information they desire.

In general, people who give a "canned" answer, or cut-and-paste a mountain of scripture, do not know the answer, or have a reasoned opinion, but want to say something anyway.

Sometime they want to answer, but don't know the answer. Sometimes they are too busy to write out a long answer. "Jesus loves you" isn't always a cop out. There are times when I've seen a question and I really want to asnwer (and I have to research the question) but I have no time.

Why do some Atheists answer Christian related questions with "That's stupid" when it doesn't answer the question at all? It's probably part of the same thing (though I'm biased and highly doubt it) that they want to answer and don't know the answer or have the time to look it up.
