I'm 5'3" @ 160lbs. Everyone says I don't look it because I'm pretty solid. But I need to lose about 30lbs for me to feel comfortable with myself & I just found out diabetes runs in my family. So first I want to focus on eating healthier and living healthier.

I've joined SPARKPEOPLE.COM WHICH IS AN ENORMOUS HELP via a suggestion from a fellow Yahoo member!

Now, I'd like a site to inform me about nutrition, organic foods, good supplements, necessary vitamins. I think I eat healthy already. I only drink water, green tea, coca tea. One cup of coffee/week. I don't eat fast foods, fried foods, soda, or juice. I eat mostly seafood & poultry & little red meat. I eat whole grains like quinoa. I'm TRYING to take it easy w/ rice, bread, tortillas & pasta. I'm latina so I have a really hard time slowing down on the last food group mentioned.

I want to learn how to eat better not just knowing to eat more veggies & grains. I want to know how eating particular foods affect my body. HELP!
