Try the Microsoft Office webcasts:

http://www.microsoft.com/events/series/officesystemwebcasts.mspx

If not, then switch to OpenOffice:

http://www.openoffice.org/

And then use their tutorials:

http://www.learnopenoffice.org/tutorials.htm

After a few weeks you should then be able to use Microsoft Office (if you even want to switch back, of course!)

www.brainybetty.com has some great tutorials. You can also purchase some beginner books pretty cheaply.

I taught myself how to use PowerPoint by just playing around with it and using the Help tool. Microsoft office website has some great step-by-step help as well.
