By writing, speaking and listening. Also, keep a dictionary handy.

Writing: you can try typing in English some texts on the computer, it helps a lot to remember how to spell things. If you misspel a word you won't miss it, and using a computer dictionary to look what was the mistake would only reinforce your remembering the correct spelling.

Unfortunately there are no easy ways to remember spellings except learning the words by heart, and looking into the Grammar books. How do you think English people learnt it? From school, from books, from practising and remembering, constant writing.

Speaking and listening: the best way is to talk to somebody in English. It would be ideal if it were a native speaker, but is not at all necessary. Even if you do not feel confident enough, try to communicate as much as you can. It will build up your confidence and communication skills.

When you learn a language, no matter how much you learn, you will always feel that you dont know this, and you are not good at that. The important thing is not to give up and always remember how much you knew, let us say just a few weeks after you started to learn a language, and now.

Little by little, you will see the results, from listening to BBC, and watching films, and reading books, and constantly learning.

Best of luck

Get some english lessons.... real, serious and intensive lessons with a teacher for at least 3-6 months. Without an English basic knowledge, listening, watching movies or reading books won´t help for much.

it helps.... keep on you are on the right track... it takes time for a language to 'sink in'...

Don't forget to learn all the new words. When reading, make a list of all the new words you find, review them daily, write the entire sentence, not just the word.

Don't forget to learn how to read pronunciantion on a dictionary.

Call your local library and ask about literacy courses. They are often free and work wonders.
