Not to be a smart *** but next time you need stitches try to ask for the desolveable ones. It works just like regular stitches but you don't have the pain of getting them pulled out.

Stitches are supposed to stay in until a certain date in order to make sure that a wound will remain closed after they are removed (there are standard times for all parts of the body). You can wait as long as you want afterwards but each day after the sutures will become more and more a part of your body (over grown with new skinand that sort of thing). This makes them difficult and after even 2 extra days, even painfull in removal.

the skin grows over the stitches, and when they remove them, it hurts a lot, it happened to me once, and is very painful.

The skin will grow around your stiches! That woould be quite painfull

If you wait too long, the stiches could grow into your skin and be really hard to get out!!

they get infected and they will grow in your skin if you aren't careful you can cut them out your self if they are where you can see them and get to them

They will have grown into you, and will have to damage you to get them out.
