I'm a born again Christian and former atheist, and as an atheist I did not worship anything, but constantly searched for truth and love. I found that in the Lord Jesus Christ. That is why I'm a former atheist, and now a Christian.

Wow. I don't worship anything. I'm not sure what you mean by 'what do you do'. I'm a university student, if that helps. I don't hate Christians. No, I would never consider becoming a member of the KKK. I think you'd find most of their members are Christians.
Sorry, did you say "the fact that Atheists don't like other religions"? Okay, firstly atheism isn't a religion. And secondly atheists don't hate religion, you're thinking of anti-theists.
If it helps, atheism is nothing more or less than the absence of a belief in a god or gods. That is the only thing that makes one an atheist, and the only thing that all atheists have in common.
And you clearly are ignorant. It's probably not really your fault, you seem to have been badly misinformed about atheism. Thanks for asking a question about it, at least you seem willing to learn. I suggest you continue to ask about anything you don't understand about atheism, and stop listening to whoever told you that stuff about the KKK and hating religion.

You are an idiot. There is no simpler way of putting that.

Firstly the KKK were made up of christian fundamentalists and went on some tripe at the time along the lines of `god disagrees with black people`, he never did but you can twist your holy book to say anything you want.

I don't worship anything, I just live. And I don't hate christians, i hate only those christians who hate me in return for my nonbelief or those that consider me sinful for my sexual preference or my atheism.

I suggest you read a site like positiveatheism.org since you clearly are in the dark about what atheism is.

You DO mean offense linking atheists to the KKK. First of all atheism and racism are 2 completely different things. Second, atheists dont HATE any religions, we just look down on you and laugh at your ignorance. Lastly, we do not need to worship anyone as we dont feel small and insecure.

I don't worship anything. I do consider myself a secular humanist, and consider it to be my duty and my privilege to help those less fortunate than myself. I do this because it feels good to make others happy. That's it.

The reason I happen to dislike Xianity (and Islam) is because the basic premise of the religion is that there is only one answer. One "true" god. So if you're not with them, you're against them. That lends to a very intolerant attitude in general. This becomes even worse when they start insisting everyone else believe as they do...and even start lobbying to change laws so that everyone must do what they consider to be proper. I'm all for religious freedom, but that means no one gets to impose rules on anyone else. So the religious stuff has to stay away from schools, and hospitals, and law.

Other religions are usually not nearly so aggressive about pushing themselves on others, which is why Xianity and Islam get centered out amongts religions.

KKK? Those are mostly Southern US Christians, aren't they? It's exactly that intolerance and hatred of others that makes me not like the Fundie Xians. I'm far too liberal to ever be mistaken for a member of the KKK.

EDIT :
".is the fact that Atheists don't like other religions does it mean that you in way are acting like the KKK? "

Absolutely not. We're trying to stop the religions (Meaning Xians) from forcing their beliefs on us. That means the aggressive door to door prosletizing and trying to change laws. (Not to mention the violent attacks on abortion clinics and gay bashing) It's they who are spreading the intolerance and hate. We merely don't want it forced on us.

That would make us the "good guys". ;)

Why do you ask something about atheists, when you already have so many concepts about them? Why do you think atheists hate Christians? people hate people, that's right and sometimes atheists hate atheists and Christians hate Muslims and Muslims hate Jews and Muslims hate Hindus etc. etc. etc. etc. If you look closely it has nothing to do with someones religion..... it is just a personal decision to hate others regardless to what sort of religion you belong or you don´t belong.

I don't hate anyone.

Following that, I would never consider being a member of the KKK. And yes--it really *is* rather offensive to link the two. Atheism has a tendency to completely negate racism--if we're all just looking out for ourselves, with no gods to play favorites, then we're all equal anyway.

I don't worship anyone. I read books, play video games, write, knit, and raise tropical fish. Since you asked what I do...

ETA: I'm not against any religions. On the contrary, they encompass a large part of my studies. I just choose not to participate in any of them. Really, that's about it.

Christianity (and the other religions) are not nearly as consolidated as your question inplies. In my experience there's a huge range of interpretations in a single pew in a single church. That's one of the reasons religion has such a long history of division (Judaism gives rise to Christianity and later to Islam, Protestants part ways with Catholics, Protestants splinter into Lutherans and Methodists and Presbyterians). The hodgepodge of writings that are supposedly the basis of these religions are extremely ambiguous and contradictory and there for open to a broad range of interpretations. For example "Thou Shalt Not Kill" is supposed to be one of the basic rules for humanity even in the old testament yet the Bible is full of killings both by men and by god, some portrayed as bad things, but many portrayed as good things. So "thou shalt not kill" gets ineterpreted as "thou shalt not kill members of your group byt it's OK to kill those in other groups" or "thou shalt not kill those as long as they do exactly what you think they should be doing according to the Bible but it's OK to kill those who don't".

Funny you should mention the KK in association with Atheists. Being a Christian (more specifically a Protestant) was a pre-requisite for being in the Klan. That's why they burned crosses and some wore crosses on their "robes". And their number one argument for their racists beliefs was that god made whites superior to blacks. And of course as a religious organization, their hatred was not reserved for those of other races. They also targeted those of other faiths, particularly Catholics and Jews.

Do I hate Christians categorically? No. Do I hate the (sometimes bizarre) interpretations that some Christians make of the Bible? Yes. Do I hate it when misguided Christians behave in ways that are backward and cruel and hateful? Yes. Do I hate it when Christians are prepared to kill those who just happen to not be Christians? Yes. Do I hate the long history that Christians have of torturing and killing those whose only crime is speaking the truth? Yes.

The answer is that they worship themselves. And FYI, anyone can write, "This is a Christian organization," or, "I am a Christian." The points made about KKK and Hitler saying nothing about Christians, but a great deal about the inability to think and shallow spiritual life of those writers.

I don't worship anything. I do not hate Christians but I do pity them. And I think KKK members should all be shot.

Atheists worship nothing. If we worshipped anything, we wouldn't be "atheists" then, would we?

I don't hate Christians. I hate their archaic belief system.

The KKK is profoundly Christian. It states so in bold print on their homepage.

FYI, so was Hitler.

Basically, all you have done here is confirm to the world how little you truly know not only about Christianity, but atheism as well.
