Some people need to walk away at first. They need to settle down and gather their thoughts so things are not said out of anger that they will regret later. Men especially like to do this, and it is actually better if u let them walk away. It's not good to walk away and never talk about the issue, but to walk away and come back to it later is perfectly ok. You need to give that person space and that way when they do come back they are calm and can talk about the issue instead of letting their emotions run wild.

It can be the right thing, if the partner thinks the situation needs to cool down. Eg, a lot of men are afraid that if they get angry they might physically strike out at their partner (and I guess women do too) so that could be a good reason.

As long as they don't refuse to talk about it at all.

As a guide, I think it's best to talk for no more than an hour, then do something nice, and talk about it again another time.

But sometimes difficult feelings come up and then you might need to walk away and come bacvk when you've calmed down and can talk constructively.

This is a difficult time of year and more couples split up at this time than any other. So try and be kind to each other and give each other time to work it out.

Good luck.

Depends, sometimes it is better to walk away and cool off, so that it does not get too blown up, I personally think some time alone to cool off is the best rememdy.

Though ti does depend on the arguement sometimes you need to talk it out to clear the air

I'm at the stage where if she wants a row, I walk away and say "whatever". If she persists I always say, "That's not worth arguing over and you're not worth arguing with". Usually means I get about 5 days of peace, no nagging, nothing but the silent treatment.Ain't it great!
