It's a man thing . Lots of men need to cool off and be left alone usually at some point in an argument. We women are usually accused of keeping it going, wanting to have the last word. Usually we do this because we want it resolved, but lots of men need to walk away first before something is resolved. My husband does the same thing when things get heated as has every other man I've been with. I've just learned to deal with their way of dealing with it :) Just let him go - he'll come back and then you both have had some space and some time to calm down and you can rationally discuss things, which is actually a good thing.

That's what men do. The more we talk, the less they want to listen. In future, if something's wrong, try the silent treatment until he asks what's up. If he doesn't notice something's up then bin him for someone more worth your time!

There's an interesting book called 'Why men don't listen and why women can't read maps' that discusses our differences and how we can learn to live with them or not as the case may be!

when some people are angry (like myself) its easier to just walk away cause sub consciously you know its the best thing to do as things can get said that wouldn't be said if you weren't angry. just let him know that he is immature for walking away and you should talk things through like adults, HOWEVER, in some cases the best thing to do is walk away and calm down then talk about it later. whats the point in talking if you have attitude, its gonna make more arguments and cause something more than it would have been if he had walked away, calmed down then talked later.

Some people have a hard time talking when things get emotional... it is better to cool down and talk with a level head later...

but if it is a problem for you... you could knock out his knees with a bat next time to make him stay...

He doesn't know how to handle confrontation. If its an issue that definitely needs discussing then be careful - he may be bottling it all up - and it will result in a major blow out.

It's better for him to walk away rather than to say something he will regret.
