The suffix "-itis" means inflammation
The main bronchial tubes are the "bronchi" so inflammation of them is "bronchitis"
The small bronchial tubes (1mm downwards) are the "bronchioli," so inflammation of them is technically "bronchiolitis" though many doctors when talking to an ordinary patient will use the term "bronchitis" as the neaerest medical term the public are likely to be able to understand.
