Two points; First, realize that everyone that has signed up for the US military wanted to defend this country, took an oath and they joined by choice, many have NEVER complained about the war.
Second: We all know there is really ONLY one reason we went in to this war, because someone somewhere had to pay for the destruction caused on 9-11. There was no way this country was going to just let that happen and do nothing. I stood by our revenge then and I stand by it now, that was all it was based upon, we were slapped and we slapped back to make a point, blow up our buildings and people and government, and we WILL destroy something and maybe next time it will be you!
WE ALREADY WON !!
Point well made and we have ALREADY WON! many countries are scared to death to go up against us and scared to harbor terrorist for fear we will come in and wreck their country too! Can you see we have won in these terms?

We have WON in Iraq.
We are going to forever fight terrorist, thats the new way of life so get used to it.
We couldn't get the person responsible for 9-11 so we got the next best thing, there is no way we were going to just sit there and go WOW they blew up our buildings!! cool! let's wait and see what they blow up next!!
So we have won because we made a point, yes a point, the weak are picked upon the strong are left alone, look at a pack of wild animals we are no different. The USA will fight anyone, anywhere, anytime, and stand aside because if you harbor terrorist they might come for you next!

I disagree the liberal media has so weakend the resolve of the people that most countries now think our threats aren't credible. I agree we won the war quickly and we are now fighting a different war. Democrats say they would have planned the aftermath better but there was a lot of smoke out there concerning what needed to happen after we won. I don't think there is anything we could have done that would have resolved the problems we are now having. The Iraqi people have chosen to be petty and not work together and we have to take the blame for it.

You're not from this planet are you? If the US wanted revenge for 9/11 why have they not tracked down Bin Laden?
Secondly, if the US has already won in Iraq why has Bush just announced that he needs to send 20,000 more troops to complete the job?
Why are US soldiers still dying on the streets of Iraq?
When WW2 was won, no more soldiers were being shot and killed by Germans or the Japanese!
I think the longer the US stay in Iraq the less people fear them, because the Iraqi freedom fighters are kicking their *** with nothing more than RPGs, AK-47s and roadside bombs. They are showing the rest of the world how to fight the so called US super power. They are showing the rest of the world that the way to confront the US is not on the battlefield but instead to wage a guerrilla war against them in territory where they have no friends, no local knowledge, and no idea where the enemy is hiding or where they are going to attack from.
This is Vietnam all over again. Are you going to post something about how the US won that war too?

That's hilarious. Revenge? What's the point of taking revenge on the wrong people? The Iraqi's had nothing to do with 9/11. It's the stupidest argument I've heard yet.
I wont even go into the "already won" part. If you've already won then why keep fighting?

Tell that to all the dead civilians! It wasn't the Iraqi's that destroyed the twin towers. Bush sent those soldiers over there to allegedly free them from the despot that Hussein had become. Now the military and the Iraqi population are suffering for it - it has absolutely nothing to do with the 9/11 thing. And no you have not won in Iraq.

3000 Americans, 655,000 Iraqi deaths, country in chaos, more dying every day, yeah we sure showed them didn't we. When are you poor deluded individuals going to realize that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and has more to do with the price of oil. It is just a shame that people that are dumb enough to believe George Bush about any thing are still in the gene pool, they should be fixed so they cannot have any offspring to further the myth.

Kinda sorta in those terms but in every other war known to mankind, when one side wins, the other side is defeated. We might have won, but the enemy is not defeated. America is constantly trying to push their beliefs on other parts of the world that don't want them. Just because a mexican kills my mom, doesn't mean if I kill any random mexican, justice was served. Bin Laden bombed us, how is killing iraqis justification for that. When he is dead then yes we Really won the war. He is the enemy not iraq. For that reason I cannot understand how people say we won the war. When we won WWII, no more americans died in battle, how many americans still die in Iraq. We are sending over 21000 more troops for crying out loud. Not something that happens when you acheive victory. If we would mind our own business, they would not want to attack us.

Dude, put the crack pipe down, we have not "WON" anything! We have only taken over a country, created hate, and now we have to rub salt into the wound by wasting more troops and money, and lives!
As for "revenge", Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9-11!!!!!! The TALIBAN in Afghanistan was/is our "revenge" and we are over there to! Now we are going after The Horn of Africa, what next?
STOP THE MADNESS!!!!

1 - "defend this country"
Er...please tell me you don't still believe that Iraq was somehow a threat to the US?
Invading Iraq was an act of attack, not defence. They're antonyms, not synonyms.
2 - "we WILL destroy something and maybe next time it will be you!"
Nice philosophy there. Someone hits you, and so you hit someone back, but you're not too bothered if it was the person who hit you first. It doesn't matter WHO you hit, so long as you hit them hard.

Taking revenge for 911. lol. and loose an equal number in Iraq also. you call it revenge, it is doubling what happened in 911. instead of focussing on real terrorist, US created another base for terrorists

Amen.
But if we pull away now from Iraq is going to give the Muslim terrorist to build again.
Hope the lesson they learn our reach is not focus just on Iraq like the C-130 gunship show them in Africa.
