Talk to the U.S. Coast Guard recruiter. How your good your qualifications are depends on how hard it will be for you to join.

Get a shotgun and go stand on the coast and guard it, easy as 1,2,3 lol

Probably about the same as getting into any branch of the armed forces. If you are ok physically, and can swim, you are almost there.
