That's like asking what is the future of microtechnology. Micro brought us the computer you're using to view the internet, as well as many advances in science. It'll be huge, and it'll be pervasive.

Governments are now trying to figure out how to introduce it in such as way that newspapers and others aren't scared off like they were for some other fields of technology.
