Hi,
I think the best way to slim down is eat healthy and exercise well. If you are planning to join a gym. for workouts, make sure that you go there on a regular basis. If you leave going to the gym. and your diet remains the same, then definately, you are going to gain weight. Be sure that eat healthy food. Avoid junk food like pizzas, burgers,high fat and high calorie food.
Most importantly:
DRINK AT LEAST 8 GLASSES OF WATER DAILY.
It not only decreases your weight but also helps in cleaning of your skin. Your face will have more glow. But, be careful that you dont drink water after your meals for at least 20 minutes. This really helps. I reduced about 5 kgs. after doing this.

Exercise all you want you WILL NOT LOOSE WEIGHT unless you combine exercise with a well balanced diet, there are exercises that help burn more fat, but still if after you exercise session you will go for a juicy Burger & fries followed by a bowl of ice cream do not expect to loose but your health.

Cardio-vascular exercises are best - in other words ones that get your heart beating faster. Among those are running, aerobics, dancing, cycling, swimming, rowing, and stepping to name a few.
