Have some respect boy - if your parents do not approve....clean up the language in front of them.....my own personal opinion... no, not swears -- but that does not mean that it is appropriate language.

Suck isn't a swear word, but some people find it offensive.

As for "freakin" or "friggen" I said them all the time until someone pointed out that they were replacements for the "F" word. The more I thought about, the more right I realized he was.

Technically, none of them are swear words but they can bother some people. Just don't say those words around them.

Personally, I don't think suck is a word. You can say a vaccuum sucks up lint from the carpet and it doesn't sound bad. I tihnk friggen or freakin is just what your stepfather says. You mean it in a f word sort of fashion, and the meaning is what matters.
On another note entirely, even if every person comes on here and says "No, those aren't bad." It's not like pointing to the computer screen and saying "SEE MOM!!" will help you out any. When I was a kid my mom always said "My house, my rules". If your mom doesn't want you to say those words, it's probably in your best interested to at least not say them around her.

Yes if your parents dont want you to use those words then they are "swear" words. Especially freakin and friggen which are just words used instead of the usual F...k .

I don't let my children say those words either. They aren't swear words but means you are using them to replace swear words they take on the same meaning, so then they are swear words.

next time your around mom instead of saying sucks say implodes!
the problem with family's like your is that they shove so much Christianity down there kids throat the kids puke it up later,, i think they need to be less cornered with "sucks" and more cornered with alter boys being sexually abused

Your parents are right. Talk with them about the words you can use instead.

Sometimes is the way you use these words. Maybe this is what bothers your parents.
