Lately I've been confused. I feel like something is missing. Well, no. I don't know what I feel. And I don't know, but perhaps a little spirituality might do the trick?

I am not religious, but if someone gives me an appealing coax - who knows?

So far I have always been an atheist. But I find the atheist crowd a little conceited and arrogant and cold for my liking.

Am I a pagan? If so.. am I asatru or a druid or what? Do I instead like the sound of Islam? The Buddha was a nice guy. And those Hindu people seem friendly. If I were to go to the Hari Krishna's then I'd get a free meal though. Oh!

Is it even necessary at all or am I just seeking to fill a gap where, I don't know, a good episode of Doctor Who might work just as well?

Where are the virtues in practicing religion?

Whoever "thumbs down"'d every answer but those about Jesus is just an idiot.

There is a reason I omitted Christianity from my above list, after all.

Meditation sounds like a good idea!

I believe everyone is spiritual, but not everyone realizes it. You can have a negative or positive spirit, but you're still spiritual. You don't have to be "religious" to be spiritual. Personally, id on't believe in organized religion. Faith is something more personal. Just because one calls themself religious, doesn't make them a good person.

Well, no one needs a religion per se, some are quite happy without it and some pick and choose the best parts a a few different religions. But if you are curious and feel like you are missing something, I can at least give you infomation about mine, Ásatrú. Here is some of the best links on the net about it. :-)

http://www.haxton.org/asatru.html

The only way you can figure out what is best for you is to read up about the religions you are interested in and see which one fits you the best.

Each of the religions you mentioned has some good points to it. I am not familiar with everyone one of them so I can comment on a few.

You can be an atheistic pagan, it is possible. (But keep in mind that the vast majority of pagans are polytheists.) http://www-personal.engin.umich.edu/~leta/natpag/

I might also suggest Pantheism. http://www.pantheism.net/

Asatru is a neat religion I think, here's a site about it's values http://www.webcom.com/~lstead/RBValues.html

I agree Buddha is a nice guy, I have a statue of him on the shelf here. The meditation rituals of the Buddhists can really bring peace to ones mind.

being spiritual does not mean being religious. Being spiritual is honoring the spirit that you have within. Just like you take care of yourself physically, emotionally, etc. to be well balanced you need to feed your spirit as well. You must believe you have one or you wouldn't be asking this question. Try finding a 12 step program. You can find the steps at an AA meeting or many other places they arent just for addictions they are a life style. Check it out you might be glad you did

THe best Dr. Who episode is the first one with the good doctor from the 70's ... I forget the episode name and for some reason or other I have forgotten the actor's name.

Not everyone needs to be in touch with their spiritual insights... some do. Religion does not imply spirituality and spirituality does not imply religion.

I say follow your Will to the gate of the threshold and discover for yourself what you are to discover. (google Thelema as a suggestion... forget all the religions and go your own way... )

We are 2 halves there is a spiritual side to all of us and when it isn't filled with good things it fills with bad. Just start meditating and ask the heavens what direction you are supposed to go, but you have to be still with no distraction .. the answer will come to you .. it feels like it comes from your heart. You might cry or you just might feel like a door is opening.
But you need quiet to meditate people rarely meditate anymore, they got music on the radio. cell phones in their ears.. you can't hear the spiritual in such a noisy atmosphere.

Check out the term "Agnostic". That might help.
Also, realize that you don't have to fit yourself into someone elses box to be fulfilled.
Sounds like you need a hobby and some new friendships.
If you do decide on the whole "God" thing, you need to realize that your views don't have to be definite. It IS okay to say "I do not know all that is about the universe."

In my own opinion, we need spirituality coz that is a part of the character of a person that should be enhanced and be practiced as well. It is one of the most important part of our self coz with the help of this we will be closer to God and we will be able to keep ourselves away from sins.

Doc who, is great but not real. If you are happy with yourself that the important part.
I'm catholic, I read about budda and I like his writing on wisdom. But I do recommend Doc Who from the early 80's. Just follow your heart, keep your family and friends close and enjoy each and every day. And smile
