Perhaps if there was input, they only insult and say we believe in fairy tales.

Because we have the right answers to so many of the questions asked here. It's obviously very productive to have us here: without our input, the vast majority of the questions asked here would only get wrong answers, and in fact usually they'd get terribly ignorant answers.
What make you think that this is "a theist section"?
See, that's part of the other reason we're here: as the answer right below me illustrates, believers have a terrible habit of lying about atheists and atheism, as well as about evolution and many morality issues. Without the input of atheists, this place would be full of unchallenged lies. Basic honesty requires that atheists come here and set the record straight. Be honest with yourself about this - do you see any reason to believe that the believers would "straighten up and fly right" on their own? Just look at the constant flow of ignorant and childish attacks.

Some atheists make atheism their religion. They get so zealous about it, that to talk to them, you'd think you were talking to born again Christian.
The other possibility is they get curious when they see questions like this because a lot of questions are posted on the main page first rather than just tucked into the category.
I say live and let live!
I'm an atheist, by the way.

Isn't the concept of love and understanding subjects that are mentioned in many religions?
Sure their beliefs may not include religion however; from what I have seen their views and ideas can/ are as philosophical as the next person.
To talk of the absence of religion/God is still a discussion with reference to religion.
I will admit they may point out their personal beliefs which is far more pleasant-
then some that openly criticize and judge and claim their beliefs are truth and the others are lies.

I enjoy discussing issues or debating with Artists. The ones that bring intelligent questions to the table. The ones that make statements that anyone who believe is an idiot, I can do without. I guess they have no age limit, and Jr high school kids are allowed on

Everyone, whether atheist or theist, is here because they have an interest in religion and/or spirituality.
And in my opinion you need atheists' input a lot more than anyone needs yours.

Spoken like a true loving, tolerant Christian.
Quite honestly, I think you are put off by their superior intelligence that is miles beyond your own. It is demonstrated here *every day*.
Besides, if you can't handle someone's challenges to your faith and belief, then how strong is that belief in the first place?

This would be an appropriate forum to learn and debate the merits of both sides of the religion question. Their imput can valuable to say, a believer as it makes one consider, question and prove their position. Healthy debate is always a good thing...

Because we enjoy pointing out the HUGE holes in religious "logic" and especially pointing out the fallacies in the childish and totally incorrect belief that there is a god or any other magic sky-pixie.
I know your faith is so flimsy that it won't stand up to even casual scrutiny, but whining and crying about it won't make us go away...
