I've the experience as I myself had gone through it. The first day you are to "Drink" Saline only and if you are strong enough you won't need it much. The trouble is mainly the pain and that you will be able to whisper but can not talk in the usual manner and again just due to the pain you can not move urself much! By the day three you will become almost perfect and you may released by the 5-6h dya.By the 15th day you will be able to come back to the normal life with little restrictions so that you will not become a patient of Hernia!!

how active are you now?
day 1- pure recovery. Dry throat from anaesthetic, but no water allowed. Just a few ice chips.
day 2- getting better. Water allowed, but you need a bedpan. MAYBE you can sit up.
day 3- sit up, water. think about food.
The bug thing is, they have played with your bowels. They shouldn't let you go until you have a bowel movement- to show everything is working.
