Japans maritime self defense force (JMSDF) are still using the old WW2 imperial navy & army flag on navy ships.

And recently the japan ministry of defense revised the constitution removing limitations on JMSDFs participation in peace keeping efforts overseas.

Does anyone trust them taking the role on global terrorism?

Why should we care?

WWII ended 60 years ago.

Simply because Japan is still ruled by the Emperor, well in theory and well not in practice. So keeping the same colours make sense, Think of the British, the Queen does not really command the troops but they carry her seal and all. Well good night.
