I'm looking to go to New York in the latter part of the year (June onwards). I'm not sure what is a good price. At the moment I'm seeing £400 flight only. Where should I go to look at best prices and is it cheaper during the week on weekend to fly from etc.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

January to March and November to mid December.

Cheap flights with Globespan starting from Liverpool this year to Newark I think, check there website.

http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/ is a good source. It will tell you exactley when and what dates are available for the cheapest flights. If you specify dates, it can bump the price up a lot. Try to be flexible and book as much as you can in advance ie more than 6 months in advance. It tells me that Virgin are the cheapest from the UK at £199 including tax this month

If you want to search from all airports in London, just put London NOT heathrow or gatwick. Sam e for new york, put in NYC or New York NOT JFK or newark.

You should be paying about £360 incl tax inJune from most major airports in the UK unless you need a connecting flight

Go direct to the airline for the best deal.

Most of all be flexible and dont travel at the weekend if you are a real cheapskate!

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are often the cheapest days of the week. October/November are often the cheapest months.

Air India is pretty cheap. BA aren't cheap but their website does show the cheapest days without you having to do lots of queries. Failing that, try Expedia, Travelocity, Opodo, etc.
