Home office should run an SSL VPN and use CITRIX to allow Small office to access data via Browser. Best to support a multi-platform client base since things are changing rapidly and MS may not be the best solution in the future.

Use of PDF's using Acrobat for corporate documents. Integrate mail and shared calendars or even allow Linux clients using Open Office with clients connecting with UBUNTU systems and FireFox.

Depends. If you need to collaborate, maybe set up a WIKI.

If you need just to upload/download files, then set up a share on a head office server (or even just a head office workstation if you've very few users).
