i.e., why do we have contagious, temporary, loss of memory when, in the middle of conversation, the person talking to us forgets a word and asks us to remind him/her and we find that for a brief moment we also cannot remember the word or name?

The brain links information together so that it can find it. (This is why mnemonic devices work.) When you try to remember something out of context, you're missing those links.

Think of it like walking down the street, everything is going smoothly. Then you remember that you actually need to be one block over. Now you need to find a route to get there. Sometimes it's obvious and you hardly notice. But sometimes it takes a bit of a detour first.

i think of it relies upon on the region... For starters, notwithstanding, there are no longer any constitutional amendments protecting adult males from something or giving adult males the final suited to something fantastically. Now this could advise that adult males are the dominant element and could be stored "in verify" or it could advise that there is a psychological element at play in society that announces women persons are "weaker" and choose secure practices. i'm prepared to wager, you will hear the two sides of the argument with multiple caveats to accompany those arguments. we've a community newspaper (The Westword) that at present revealed an editorial some guy suing nightclubs over the in call for women folk' nighttime that often happens on Wednesdays. His declare replaced into that girls human beings get loose beverages from adult males because it is, so why is there discrimination against adult males on Wednesday nights allwoing women human beings to drink loose and not pay a hide cost. (The bonehead is yet to win a case...) there is relatively different areas to verify: payscales, gender-particular careers, maternity vs paternity go away, and so on. i think of we are residing in a greater equivalent society than persons are prepared to confess, yet on a case with tips from case analysis, i think of you will see the two genders taken care of unfairly.

I do that all the time. I never listen properly . I can switch off without even knowing i am doing it. I am very bad at remembering names but i do remember faces and if i should describe someone to you it would be in this fashion [ Do you remember that lady with the red strange coloured hair etc etc ]. I am well aware of it but don't know how to go about changing it. Just that sometimes i have listened to the same stories for so long that i just switch off. Not very nice of me.:))

i think it is psychological breif loss of memory..
ur brain of course remembers, but u tend to sympathize psychologically with the person and u think that u can't remember either.. so u put more effort in the process, which makes it even harder to recall the info from ur subconscious...

It's not contagious...the other person must be talking a lot of boring tripe and you haven't been listening.
