Can you have a ring with diamonds all the way round as a wedding ring or is that kind exclusively used for an eternity ring?

The ring in question is a yellow gold ring with small diamond connected all the way round, so you can see gold and diamond.
I want it to look like a wedding ring because I am proud that I am getting married and want everybody to know it, but my friend said it was an eternity ring so I wanted to check if there were any rules....

You can have whatever you want although traditionally with stones all the way round it's an eternity ring. Go with what you want - you are hopefully going to wear it for life so need to pick something you like.

I have a platinum wedding ring which has a row of diamonds all the way around and brushed platinum and shiny platinum also, so it has 3 lines all the way around, people have commented how lovely it is. There are no rules, a lot of men have a small diamond in their band. Whatever you like is fine and people will know it is your wedding ring because you have it on your wedding finger. If you get an eternity ring you will either wear 3 rings next to each other, or wear your eternity ring on the other hand.

Hi - you can wear any ring at all that you want as a wedding ring, even a plastic heart ring if you so wanted! Its just a symbol of eternal love (eternal circle with no beginning or end) not anything in particular about certain metals etc. Mines platinum with a V shape to fit my engagement ring, the V is set with 9 diamonds. HTH! xx

I don't what people are so confused about..

An eternity band(diamonds all the way around) IS a wedding band.
I wear one everyday, with or without my engagement ring, and no one ever questions whether I am married.

Good Luck.

My sister and I got married last year. She has a ring with diamonds all the way round cut baguette style similar to this one but with diamonds all the way round: http://www.purejewels.com/src/addiwed/cat_id/byoflatcourt/recno/22/product-Baguette-Diamonds-Eternity-HET106.htm. It's really delicate and she has to be careful with it. She bought it from a jewellers in London.

My engagement ring is platinum with a single diamond so I went for a plain platinum flat court ring. I'm quite clumsy so didn't want to go for something I could ruin!

I think it is personal choice. If you wear a ring on your wedding ring finger of any kind then people presume you are engaged or married so I don't think it matters!

There are some lovely wedding rings out there that have diamonds round them on all different width bands, they make a nice change from the traditional plain gold band. My advice would be to find a working jeweller who will make one to your own design you will be surprised that it will not cost you much more than if you got one off the peg and it will be exclusive to you and theirfore should mean a lot more to you both.Good luck on your forthcoming wedding.

U could even have a piece of tin as ur wedding ring if u want to ! As long as the ring is worn on ur third finger of the left hand it makes no difference what the ring looks like. We wear wedding rings on that finger because in the old days it was believed that the vein/artery from that finger leads straight to the heart - so whatever ring u wear on that finger is considered ur wedding ring - no matter what it looks like. It is all ur choice.

I can be anything you want it to be I'm getting married on 1/27/07. My engagement ring has a large round stone with two smaller ones on each side and the matching band has five stones going across it. So you can wear what every kind of ring you want but I wanted it to be seen that I'm Married.

No rules. Wear what you like. It sounds like a wedding band with diamonds in it to me. I've never even heard of an eternity ring! :)
CONGRATS!

Both my husband's and my wedding bands have diamonds in them. His has 7 across the top and mine has several... not quiet all the way around... but you can't tell if you just glance at it. It is your decision. Everyone sees mine as a wedding band. I mean, you will have your engagment ring on behind it so it should be a dead give-a-way. And besides... who cares what others think : )
