I have an Akai CT-K201 tv and an old Akai video connected to each other but watch tv channels through the vcr. Just got a new Wintal dvd player(PDVD2025) and have no idea how to connect it to the vcr.
The vcr only has one video in/out and one audio in/out, and Ant out and Ext Ant.
The tv has one video in/out, Ant in, two sets of audio in/out, and +/-R and +/-L for speakers.
Can I still hook up the dvd to the vcr???? and if so how???

I would buy an AV (video, audio L,R) switch box and use that to feed the VCR and DVD signals to your television. Why? Because the DVD player has macrovision encoding to prevent copying of the DVD. This causes the video to be unwatchable if you feed it through your VCR.

Looks like you have plenty of inputs to support what you are looking to do.

First, hook up the VCR via Coaxial cable(the cable you usually screw into the TV). The cable coming out of your wall goes into the ANT IN on the VCR. Then get another length of Coax to go from the ANT OUT to the TVs ANT IN.
Then you have all the RCA jacks (red, white, and yellow inputs) in the rear of the TV to hook up your new DVD player.
If your DVD player is progressive scan, and if your TV can support component cables (looks similar to RCA cables but they are red, green, and blue) use those cables to hook up the DVD player. You'll get a way better picture.

what outputs does the dvd player have-scart (21 pin euroconnector) composite - component - HDMI ????. and what type of inputs does the VCR have??. if they both have scart (and the tv also has scart) your easiest bet would be to buy a twin scart connector (preferably switchable) connect this to the tv set and plug the VCR and DVD players into the other end of the connector.
