It's been a little over a week, since one or both cats are awake at night, between 3 A.M. and 7 A.M., when they've been banging on the door. Last night and this morning it has gotten worse and nonstop. I can't sleep. I had two nights of deep sleep, due to fatigue and a little sip of wine cooler. Other than that, I still hear them. Since I'm a light sleeper, nothing seemed to work. I've tried to annoy them, use my "white noise" CDs, anything to block them and tune them out. Tuesday night they had hours of restlessness; but it was minutes of restlessness. I've ever banged on the door a couple of times to get them to stop. Is there anyway to soundproof the room, or get them to stop and sleep for a couple of hours, until they get along with my cat? So far, even when I let them out of the room or through the gate, they're scared and hide from her. By the way, the banging is louder. Please help me and my sleep deprivation. Any ideas from past experience or websites?

I forgot to mention it was my old bedroom door, not mine. And I've tried ear plugs for another sleeping program, which didn't work, and cotton.

My cat is afraid of the vacuum cleaner. So putting my vacuum cleaner in front of my door is the only way I will be sure she will not scratch at my door at night and wake me up. Whatever your cat is afraid of, put it there.

So from what I understand, you have several cats which you must keep separated in different rooms because they don't get along yet? Can you put them in a different part of the house away from your bedroom? Are they in danger of harming eachother if you just leave them together and duke it out? Sometimes this is the best way to get cats to work out their differences.

As silly and simple as it sounds, have you tried ear plugs? Seriously. I used to have insomnia really bad, and my ex husband used to snore like a chainsaw and talk in his sleep, which drove me insane. I went to the drug store and got some of those foam-type ear plugs, the kind you squish up into a little roll and stick into your ear canal. They expand really well and if you put them in right, they do an incredible job blocking out sounds! It worked wonders and I was able to sleep normally after that, despite all of my ex's continuing noise. Perhaps you would have good luck trying this as well.

we had a problem with one of our cats scratching under our bed and waking us up....our solution was to go to walmart and buy a large dog crate and a small littler box and a water hampster water bottle thingy and if the cats woke us up we would put them in there for the rest of the night....they had a litter box if they needed it, there was a little room for them to move around and they had water and some toys, so they had everything they needed until it was morning and we could get some sleep. They have stoped doing that for a while now.

Make sure kittys r getting enough food. Try lving dry food threw the night for them. & plenty of fresh water. It sounds as there r 2 cats ajusting to a 3rd?? Cats can be cuddlers & just want to sleep w/you or someone else. They will ajust in time to ea other. You can change cAt food too.

kitties are most active at night so they want to play, if they are in the room with you let them out and close your door, they are bound to get used to the other cat(s) and will probably leave you alone.
