If you are taking 8-10 insulin shots per day either you are a brittle diabetic or out of control, you should check into the insulin pump you only have to change the needle insertion, I believe every 2-3 days. This MAY ALSO HELP YOU CONTROL YOUR SUGARS.

my daughter is type 1, diabetic and was having to take alot of shots, her Dr. put her on the pump it stoped all those problems ,with the pump u fill it with ur insulin and then u only have to change the cartrage every 3 days, it cuts down on a hell of a lot of pokes , 1 every 3 days is nothing compared to 8 a day,hu. plus the pump has all the foods u could think of programed in it ,so u can just put in what u are eating ,or put in ur blood glucose amount and it will put in what u need to correct it .she has had the pump for 5 years now and has not had one episode . not to mention how much it saves in cost per month. she is on the ( animos pump ) she was on mini med pump, but the new animos pump has so many features and is totally water proof ,she can go swimming with it still attached, which stoped all the going high with out it on,or only being able to swim for a few minutes and then having to get out and get her numbers strait. i hope this helped,ps u can eat what u want when ever u want as long as u check ur blood and put in how ever many carbs u are eating. and i don't know if u are over wait but people on the pump tend to loose weight. good luck , venita

The chances of taltering scar tissue is remote. Scar tissue is just that and it does not change no matter what you do.
As for losing weight, yes it is possible to reduce weight being a diabetic, but you should do it under supervision of a dietician, not by pills or silly fad diets. You put yourself at high risk of doing organ damage if you don'r seek proper advice.

I also heard that if you rub vitamin E on the scar tissue every night it helps reduce the scar tissue. That's what I used to do with all my scars, they don't go away but it does help reduce it and make it to where it is not as noticeable.
