I've know about this, but watch very carefully and do everything I can that the experts say so that I don't lose my tiel to something that might be preventable. The following I pasted here from a site that helps tiel owners a lot.



That has got to be a night fright. She needs a bright night light so when this happens, she can at least see where she is thrashing about. There is no proven explaination for night frights, but I beleive it is from a noise the bird hears and goes into a panic because they cannot see anything in the dark and they think a predetor is stalking them. I notice if I get up in the middle of the night to get a drink or something, Luna will freak out and start thrashing about, so I have to turn the light on and calm him down...
Of course, there can be other causes too, maybe dreams, who knows? Point is that it happens so prepare.

intense fright can render a person dead by faster circulation of the blood causing a heart attack or any blockage in the circulatory system.

yeah it happend once to my friend's bird , her little sister want it to grab him from his cage and he got scared from her hand and he died(she did'nt touch him)
little birds are very sencitive
