I tend to as it cost me less, and I can sometimes say things in a text than I couldn't say verbally.

I absolutely love texting over talking. If you don't want to, you don't have to answer, and you don't have the akwardness of calling people you don't know that well!

I probably do text a bit more than phone - mainly because its a lot handier to text whilst at work and not have nosies listening in to your conversation.
Like you its also easier to say certain things through a text - what I dont like about them though is how certain things can be misinterpretted - like someone could text something meaning it to be funny - but depending on how the other person reads it - they could take it as offensive or something!
What I also like about texts is that when someone does say something really lovely to you - you can keep it stored and refer back to it when you're a bit down or whatever. xx

In some situations you have to stop yourself because otherwise you rely on the impersonal abilities it has such as being able to cancel something by text. It's not right but we love it because it's easy.
btw.. I'm curious as to weather texting is fairly new in usa? We have been doing it for years in Australia but most of my american friends have only taken to it recently.

Ditto, i am exactly the same. Texting is good bacause you can think about a reply and don't have the time presure you do when talking to someone.

I like talking to people too, but not all the time.

Call me odd, but I think TXT messaging is very personal. I too like you also like the fact that it costs less. I use a service at Peekamo.com to send my txt messages. Its free, it has an inbox that I can manage my messages like regular email, and the people I send my messages too - its free for them as well. Check it out!

Hope this helps.

Texting is the easy way out.... its so.. faceless... Its not the same with listening to the voice of the other person.. But it can really help in difficult situtations. Or when you need some time to think. And can be quite cute at times. My ex used to send me these SMSs that were like "I MISS YOUR VOICE" or "I WANT TO LISTEN TO YOUR VOICE"... made me call her every time :P
