Do more cardiovascular workouts like slowing jogging, swimming rather than weight lifting. However a bit of muscle can rev up your metabolic rate in the long run. You may look bigger at first because of the fat covering the expanded muscle but over time it will melt off all that fats. This is because muscle mass burns fat. A person with more muscle burns higher calories even when she is just lazing around. Dont worry either if your weight comes up alittle after a gym session, muscle mass is heavier than fats. Its the inches and how you look that counts. You wont look bulky unless you overdo it. Try light weights with more repetitions for a toned look, for guys trying to build bulk, lift heavy weights but fewer repetitions instead. I would suggest combined cardio with a bit of weight lifting exercises for a balanced and slim figure. This is my personal experience.

Build Ripped Muscle Fast

Lots of cardio, running, swimming, cycling, etc. Do some of this for a long period of time >25mins every day (important: you will only really start burning fats in your body after around 25minutes of excercise) keeping a steady pace and not forcing yourself too hard. On top of that you can try to do muscular exsercise, since muscle will replace the fat in your body. Replacing the fat with muscle will not make you look fat!!! You will look tonned and healthy. I am currently working on my stomach and so i do lots of cardio followed by crunches. Of course this all will only work if you eat well. Avoid sugary and fatty foods. Still, meals should be properly balanced. I still think at your age you shouldnt be worrying about this too much. Your body is still going through a lot so there will be ups and downd. As long as you eat full healthy meals you should be fine.

all of these answers are absoolutely horrible..

first of to control you weight you need to realize how your body works... your body has a daily caloric maintenance. meaning that everyday your body needs "X" amount of calories to maintain the exact same wieght. intake more and you will gain weight, intake less and you will lose weight.

now.. your maintenance is decided by many factors including your metabolism, lean body mass, daily exercise and so forth..

use the website www.fitday.com to track your calories.. this will give you a good idea of how much your intaking daily.. once you know what you are intaking then you will be able to adjust it from there..

as far as working out goes all that really determines is what your body does with the calories it consumes... you will never get "all big and muscular" no matter what you lift or how hard you lift if you are not eating above your daily maintenance of calories. so if you fell you are over weight then i would suggest cutting back your calories by 200 a day to start.. it is considered unhealthy to lose more than 1 pound a week of actual body weight. also do not worry about what your scale says you weigh.. worry about what you look like.. untill you have a firm grasp on water retention, carb cycling and how your body works then the numbers dont mean anything.

and to the person that said dont eat protien after working out is horribly wrong... protien is what you need to be intaking... try to cut back on your carbs and your unhealthy fats. carbs are great in the morning for energy but try to stay away from simple carbs.

hope this helps... your best bet is to look up online how your body uses protien, carbs and fats... and dont go by what people say in forums.. remember that is just a persons opinion or even worse (as shown in this thread) their regurgitaion of incorrect info.

good luck

Work out when you are hungry, I mean REALLY hungry.

When you do work outs on an empty stomach , your body burns fat and calories that are stored inside your body.
If you work out while you have eaten recently your body will burn off the fat and calories you've recently consumed.

Also do not eat high protein foods like pasta/pizza/burgers and junk foods after a work out.

On a side note, at 15, you should not worry too much about working out :) . Your body is young and can metabolize better then people who are 25+, you will go through alot of weight changes in your next 5 years, but if you keep a steady pace you can keep a healthy weight.

hope it helps.
cheers.

First of all you need to understand that you can't just lose fat from a certain area by working out that area. When you excercise you lose fat from whereever your body decides to take it from. The best way to lose body fat is to do some kind of aerobic excercise like walking/jogging for 20 minutes a day every other day. You will also need to adjust your eating habits. Check out the books "Body For Life" and "Eating for Life" by Bill Phillips. Those will set you on the right path as far as what you need to do to lose weight and be healthy. As far as your paranoia about looking masculine if you become muscular you should just get over it. As long as you're not lifting weights in a style thats suited for body building you will just develope a toned sexy bod.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

If you want to slim down, then you need to lose body fat by reducing your calorie intake and increasing the amount of exericse you do. However, you should still strength train to prevent muscle loss. HTH : )
