My birthday is coming up and I am searching for idea's.

I think the best thing is to get a lower back tattoo that expresses you.. What you are interested in, don't just copy what you friend has etc. Do what is sexy for you. There is a great site that has lower back tats you can even use upper back tats for lower anything you like. Mix it up and have fun..

Unless you are going for the traditional lower back tattoo design...ie. tribal design, butterfly, flowers. Then pick out one you really think is pretty otherwise be creative! List a few of your favorite things, see how and if you could incorporate them into a unique design. TALK THE THE TATTOO ARTIST! Complicated/Very detailed designs are not recommemded and some artists will not even do them if they are too detailed. The skin on your lower back is...well an easy way to explain it is...its not the right type of skin. Think about it...MOST females flucuate in weight throughout their lives. That lower back region may go through hell and back and may not be able to keep that perfect detailed design you had in mind. Another thing if you plan on having a horizontal design, plan on arching it a bit into a "V" shape. This is because it will "fit" your body better. You are not a two dimensional flat stick thing...well you shouldnt be lol so you want the design to adapt and conform to your body shape (like the curves of your waist from the top of the butt). Plus it shows off your pretty curves too! =)

I don't know my favorite, but my least favorites are flash art, tribal, flowers and all the other cliche tattoos people get there.
Be original! Have an artist draw you something personal and meaningful so you can avoid being one of the group with a laughable tattoo.

to me heaps of tattoos are sexy, so i can't explain about all of them in this thing. it'll take forever. but not something butterfly, flower, rose. i mean, come on people, i think it's silly.
i'm not a colourful person. i wear black. sometimes red [damn its such a seductive colour. so sexy]. so i prefer tattoos that are either black, or bigger one with lots of colour. and really tiny tattoos are cute too.
actually, i have no f n idea. i love them all.

Actually, you should get something that means something to you now and probably always will. My daughter and I both got Celtic knotted shamrocks with Gold crowns and hearts symbolizing our heritage. That way it will mean something in the future as well as now. But whatever you go with, make sure its not huge (just my opinion!)

Instead of the traditional butter fly surrounded by "vine like structures," I have to strawberries instead. I love my tat. It is so sexy to me and it's different. I haven't seen anyone else with anything similar.
