this is just a note to one of the answers given earlier on the page. yes scientists did prove that something did happen to the floor of the Red Sea. the scientists never concluded what happened to it. they did how ever make some speculations many witch explain the phenomenon with out god. Christians took the first part of the finding(the fact that something did happen to the floor of the red sea) and decided that it was Mosses. despite the fact that there were many more reasonable explanations. then you have to look at the fact that Mosses did not cross the red sea. if you were to look at the word that was used in the oldest Bible and the language that it was in( i can't remember what language it was) the words used for the Red Sea in the bible and the words that actual mean the Red Sea don't match. If you research it you find that it should say that mosses crossed the Reed Sea originally stated as "the sea of reeds" in Exodus 15:4, witch is some distance north.

Science has already documented his existence as well as most of the old testament, they are presently working on Noah.
Science has just finished showing how the Red Sea parted for Moses. I've seen pictures of the chariots of the Egyptian army across the bottom of it.
The Red Sea parted because of a tidal wave caused by a earthquake in the Mediterranean, before a tidal wave comes ashore the water goes out like a low tide. The red sea went dry Moses crossed then the Egyptians started to cross as the wave came in drowning them.

Many Historians that aren't even Christians believe that Jesus did exist during that time. Their are many manuscribes that say that Jesus was a realy person at that time. Not many people would argue the existence of Jesus, but many would argue who he is.

There is near-consensus in the academic community that the historical Jesus existed, taught, and was executed by the Roman government.
No one can prove or disprove whether or not he was Christ, the Messiah.

simon greenleaf was a devout atheist, he was a lawyer and the founder of the harvard law graduate school, as a teacher he was challenged to put the crucifixion on trial, so he did, and he threw out all evidence that could have even been looked at sideways, and in the end he repented of his sin and was born again.. why? he proved christ, thecrucifixion, andthe ressurection beyond a shadow of a doubt. and he did it as an atheist..

Just as the bible is a man-made document, "evidence" can be manufactured as well. No real scholars have unearthed any documentation form Rome or Egypt to confirm any bible stories. But like Josef Goebbels said, if you tell big enough lies long enough, they become truth. Chariots at the bottom of the Red Sea? Puhhhleeeeze. Any "new" documentation which "appeared" after about .. oh.. 1996 or so, I would put down to computer-generated propaganda. You can do amazing things with computer generated imagery, and make the photos look as old as you want them to. Sorry, it doesn't wash with me.

A lot of people have commented that there is not one single contemporary or first hand account of Jesus existing - i.e. everything that was written about him was written after his (supposed) death and by someone who never claimed to have known him personally. So, it is indeed possible that this character never existed. I don't think we will ever know.
