Nile cruises are relatively big ships in terms of size and occupancy. They are of course much smaller than the sea cruises but on average they have 50+ cabins. There are no small boats that can only accommodate 12 people, it is simply not economical for anyone to build such a ship.
Anyway, If you are fine with traveling on an excellent 5 star Nile cruiser, I strongly recommend you go for either the M/S Nile Beauty or M/S Nile Romance. I have been on many Nile cruises and my experience in those has been extra special.
The boats are not too big, cozy, staff is amazingly helpful and the whole experience has been just amazing. The ships are both spacious and have 2 big sun decks and different seating areas which ensure a great deal of privacy.

A cruise down the NiIe is a fantastic experience. 12 is a crowd still better if you could make it a twosome. There will be much more wonderful happenings to reminisce when all is said and done and you return home.
