The Fall of Lucifer sure sounds like the War of the Titans. Eve being tempted with a snake sounds an awful lot like Pandora's Box, doesn't it? Why does the Garden of Eden remind me of The Garden of the Hesperides?

Mythology is just simply a religion that has died and passed away. Christianity is a religion that still being followed, one day it too, will be known as a mythology. Religions are often influenced by other religions that existed in the region around the time of it's being. For example the Roman Catholic Church from it came the Protestant, Lutheran, Methodists, Baptists, so on so forth. So a lot of religions/ mythologies from around the world have similar stories, and strange little connections to one another. Which is why I believe that it doesn't matter what religion u follow, just that it fits u.

There are 100's of different explanations and different stories of UFO's also. One is true, the rest are copies or fabrications. Even if you choose to believe there are no UFO's is the right explanation.
The fact is that the earliest written records found (see University of Pennsylvania archeology dept) show that the first religions were all based on the belief of their only being one God. Other stories such as the Greeks and Romans belief in multiple Gods followed later. Usually the first one is the correct one. Same as telling a story to a friend then having them pass it to 10 other friends. Hardly recognize it by the time it comes back to you. As for the Accuracy of the Old Testament writings and their copies, they are still the most copied but yet the most accurate in their copying of any ancient writing.

Very good. The question would be which stories/myths came first.Or are they all unconscious memories of something that happened in prehistory that effected the whole earth.Such as a meteor shower hitting the earth and surrounding planets and the oral traditions put it down as some war in the heavens.as the most comprehensible explanation.

My friend I wondered the same thing .I don't want to make myself appear to be disrespectful to the bible or to God or religion but ,think about this.. Nobody even wrote actual accounts of anything about Jesus until he had been dead for 300 years..thus ruling out actual history..The bible was written by men that had strong opinions of life and Christian ways. The Bible was written basically as a means to help people learn to live right and to give them the fear of God..For one thing I think it was a control issue other things I think adding drama like War of the Titans helped .I have found several discrepancies that were made about the cites that God was said to be destroyed by wrath..As far as the accounts of actual things about Lucifer and the Garden Of Eden it could easily have been creative writing taking accounts or stories of events and actually making them better like our present day weather channel and other media circus events that actually make things more drama than anything. The thoughts that I have had on this is the fact that the bible has been translated to many different languages to the ideas and thoughts of the person that was doing the translation thus the saying lost in translation.. Ok another thing was certain people decided what was to be and not be in the bible thus and probably omitting certain books that would have been helpful.Books such as the dead sea scrolls and the gospels of judos and Mary and also reincarnation. The roman ruler Constantine decided pretty much what should go in the bible and how. Also there have been many books that still remain out of the bible and also you have to think about the people interpreting the bible and their thoughts on how it would affect future generations .. I was raised i a fire and brimstone church where God was an angry God ,a jealous God and would destroy you and damn you for eternity in a lake of fire.>This is not what the Christian teachings were ..this is a manifestation of the word of man. Thus the witch trials and etc..My God is a kind and loving God.A God of free will .meaning he wants you to join him in paradise and live a good life but does not destroy you or have a vendetta against you that he is going to get you ..He isnt going to punish you everytime you make a mistake or ever for that fact.God gives you a choice to be a good human being and to treat your family the human family good and care for them.As far as destroying cites or the world. That is not Gods job..He created mother earth and our world and others.billions of years ago and mother earth changes and makes extinctions and evolutions without Gods direction ,God created the heavens and the earth and is a kind and loving compassionate God..not the vengeful destroyer that the bible makes God out to be.Personally I never believed the hell and damnation thing .. I just blew it off but I knew and always felt God's presence in my life.. I turned my back on God and told myself I didnt believe but guess what God never stop believing in me..I cursed God when things didn't go right and had a death wish and prayed every night to be taken from this life .Completely turning my back on the existence of a God..But over the years God has pulled me out of some no win situations where no human could have ever helped me.God never turned his back on me and gave me safety when I was stupid and begging to be destroyed and also when I took foolish chances and was almost to the point of self destruction.I also was taken care of and given precious gifts of a new life with a wonderful wife and family and put me in a position of never wanting for anything .Good health and kept me safe with all the stupid things that I did.So anyway just for your information Im not a religious fanatic but these are my thoughts on the subject and why I believe in God not the bible it was written by man and God gave us the knowledge of good and evil right and wrong when we were born .We never need to go to church although if you want to worship God welcomes those that does but as far as needing a church no..My church is the mountains the fresh air . the blue sky and the green grass and the breeze that blows across my face.As far as praying you can do that anywhere. The bottom line to what im saying is yes you are probably correct by saying it sounds like myths but all myths and legends are usually based on some truths somewhere or at least something that resembled a truth..As far as the devil and garden of eden and such..Who knows but to me I have always wondered the same..But for God..I for one am a believer as for the devil no..Lucifer the most beautiful angel in heaven maybe .. But demons and ghost and all the other crud that people want to believe in let them believe. The funny thing is that most Satan worshipers don't even believe in the devil I hope that something i have said here makes sense and rings a bell.Great question by the way and thanks for letting me sound off here and give my thoughts..

Flood stories are common, too.

As far as I'm concerned, that's just support for all religions being connected and being based on truth.

think about what you wrote. seriously think about it. do you see a similiarity? obviously. truth is, friend, the reason why it's similar is because people re-create stories but apply it to their beliefs. there is nothing wrong with it, as i see it. all religions have the same base. they may have different titles to them, but they are all the same.

because weither or not they like to admit it, the bible is just another collection of myths. myths are based on fact, to whatever degree. Jesus is just another love/sacrifice god and jehovah or yahweh, whatever you call him, is just another god of judgement. and mary is a watered down fertility goddess,
