It wasn't one of those musicals where people ask you how it was and you're like, "OMG! I loved it!" Just because you thought it was good. It's a musical where you can go home and tell yourself, "Wow. That was just a great show." I really like everything about it. But if you decide to read the book, you should probably just think of them as two different stories, because the musical is VERY loosely based off of the book. You should ignore that one answer though, because it IS a good book, along with the sequel.

I saw it. I thought it was okay. I wasn't impressed with the slowness of it. It seemed like a train trying to get moving and finally in the last half hour, it got going and caught some speed. I know that sounds amature-ish. Sorry, I am not a big musicals fan. They are over-priced street theater.

I loved it! The composers and librettist did a great job condensing the book (which was too long and involved to make a great read). The songs help move the story along and the characters are fun and interesting.
