What is queens NY like?

Each of the 5 boros is like a whole other city with everything.
Queens has 2 million people.

Queens is a BORO. This is what entire cities in other states are made of. If San Francisco or D.C. or Baltimore were placed in New York then they would just be one out of five boros.
Oh, a new Washington just came in?, we'll just put it in along with the others.
Each boro is like on a different island, except Brooklyn and Queens which are both on the same island.



There is the western part with 3-6 floor apartment buildings, it's industrial near the rivers, pockets of projects, middle class, the black area is Jamaica that takes up the southeast, the Rockaways which is like Coney Island but without any rides. They have rich towers around Forest Hills but I'm sure Manhattan is richer. And the northeast and deep south and everywhere where it gets really underpopulated and they have (residential houses, gasp!) They have commercial too but most offices are on Manhattan.

Oh, and they've got nearly every nationality on the planet, which might be strangely suprising to people, for some reason.

It's better than other boros where they have whole solid chunks of nothing but ghetto, like South Bronx, Central Brooklyn and Harlem. Here in Queens they like to herd their ghettoes into smaller areas of projects or towards the Jamaicas (the ghetto part).

Queens NY is actually great. They got everything there, it's located in Queens of course, and the people here are nice, depending on what part of Queens you live. Mostly middle class live in Queens, but there are also those rich fokes here also at some parts. House prices here are crazy, some up to a few million. The crime rate is low, depending on your area. It's mostly residential area but there are commercial area here also. Over all depends on what part of Queens, but it's a great place to live. And you can find anything from around the world here. After all it's located in the greatest city of them all. NY. ^_^

Queens is incredibly huge. It has some very pretty parts and it also has some very rough parts. It has an excellent museum of radio, TV and film; it has a museum devoted to the work of the sculptor Isamu Noguchi; it has amazing ethnic restaurants because it's the most diverse place you can imagine; it has beaches in the Rockaways; it has areas that are very urban and it has areas that are quite suburban; isn't, like, the only working farm in New York City in Queens, and the oldest standing house?

I have lived in three out of the five boro's in NYC and each one is different. Queens is great. Like Brooklyn, you can find every different culture. There are "bad" parts and "good" parts just like everywhere else you go. It depends on what you're looking for. There are parts of Queens that you must have a car to get to because mass transit does not reach it. I enjoyed living in Queens!

there is lots and lots of shopping area in queens(Jamaica ave) people that live in Brooklyn, Bronx is not rich,alot is homeless. crime is big in some parts. NYC is not what you think it is. everyone says that if you live in NYC your rich,not true.90% of Manhattan,staten island, and long Island is but overall NYC is stright up ghetto.

I'll say that i used to live in and its the better Borough out of all of them. It has crime,i mean everywhere you go has crime but its not that bad.It is the least borough with crime.Queens is a great place, i like it alot.
