The majority of the time, bonnet's are made of sheet mild steel with a back bone frame of mild steel which gives the bonnet it's rigidity, There are some manufacturers who also make the bonnets from aluminium and also carbon fibre and for the cars on show, lexan which is strong and can be clear, so that the engine bay can be shown off to the general public
