So in the bible, to lust is a sin. Is having a girlfriend to date someone to have a loving relationship with another human is it a sin? To kiss another person?

Dating isn't lusting and neither is kissing.

I don't consider dating to be a sin. What do you do on your date, sit across the table and lust at the woman all night long? Then yeah, that would be a sin and you wouldn't be a very fun date to be with.

Dating is about getting to know a person, sharing common interests and ideas, it's not about lusting.

I agree with Sean. Your question reflects that a man is not capable of a relationship without lust. A kiss or date is to show affection not lust. A growing relationship between two people can be chaste. In the end if need be and the realtionship grows it is love not lust when two marry and is a healthy sexual relationship in the eyes of God who created sex. Sex of itself is not evil or lust but physical love between two people reflects their love which is a physical expression of a spiritual union blessed by God.

May I suggest you to ask yourself if your beliefs include the existence of "sins" then on what grounds ( what sin) would be created in simply having a girlfriend?

Without the experience of dating how would relationships grow should the choice of marriage be entered into agreement?

I wonder if Jesus meant for us to love the person we want to be with instead of lusting for them and then marry as not to commit fornication.
God Bless You

To me, I believe you should save the kissing for after the proposal...
but to date, no, I don't think it's a sin. It's a way of getting to know your date.
Of course, it depends on what you do on your date...

Lust is sex, but if it even crosses your mind it is the same as actually doing it.
