islam does not have any system of caste, this is totally abhorrent to the teachings of the Holy Prophet. We have to be clear between what is islam and what is culture.in many muslim societies, cultural aspects came to be regarded to be part of islam which is not right. a good example is the repulsive honour killing. islam is all for women's rights and has accorded a high and noble status to women but the actions of muslims in pakistan, middle eastern countries have tarnished the image of the religion. therefore non-muslims must know that all that is potrayed as being islamic is not islamic at all.peace to you.

Islam has no organised church with popes, bishops etc down the line. Do not forget that Mohammad starts out about 300 years after Christianity was established as the religion of the realm. There was still a lot of bickering and killings going on among christian power mongers. As he was the inventor and implementer of Islam he saw fit to do away with the "church and its clergy" . Result was that in Islam the head of state (Calif, Sultan ) was also the head of Islam. Islam is not just a religion it is also a socio-political-economic system all rolled into one package. This way he could control all religious unrest. The main problem today is that Islam no longer has a head of state and a head of Islam. The last one was the Sultan of Turkey deposed in the early 1900 by Cemal Ata Turk when he took over power in Turkey and Islam split up into many countries. No more Sultan no more head of Islam. In the west religion was always separate from secular power event though at times its difficult to see the separation. It was always a power struggle and to survive t had to organise to be able to face the princess dukes kings and the what have yous. An us and them situation. This never happened in Islam.

When you say casts, do you mean castes or sects? If so they have at least two that I know of, (probably more), Sunni and Shiite, for example, , but for sure they dont have as many differing groups as the Christians have.

None in Judaism and Christianity. It is more a matter of religious authority or governing bodies.

I regret to inform you....it seems to.
Try insulting an Imam or other teacher.
You will quickly be taught you are "lower" then that religious leader.
