If your opponent pots the white ball this gives you 2 shots, If you pot a ball the 2 shots remain until you dont pot your balls twice. Also if the other player fouls by not hitting their ball, hitting the black ball whilst they still have some of their own colour on table unless they also have 2 shots, by hitting yours, the white not reaching their ball or by feathering the white ball (hitting it twice before striking). Also if they hit any ball with their clothing, hand or cue. Rules vary with regions and countrys so check with the rules in your club/pub.

There r many different rules relating to pool. 2 shots is only allowed when the white ball is pocketed, miss any of your balls when your shot is taken, or potted the other players ball. Also if one player is on the black and the other has there colour ball(s) on the table it is two shots to either player. If you are both on the black it is only one shot even if any player does any of the above. Hope this helps

hi : )

In pool or (8 ball as it is called elsewhere) shooting two shots depends on the following situations.

!) who you are playing

2) where you are playing.

In relation to situation 1, you just ask the person who has contol of the table, what are his/rules, then they will tell you whether they allow two shot rules or not.

In relation to situation number 2, u will find that in every country, hotel, pub, club, disco, or home that they have there own rules, it really depends on the custom use to or the way it has always been at that venue.

basically, it really is up to you and the person who has control of table, so u should ask what rules they play before you break.

You never know ur luck, you might find someone who allows 3 shoots on a foul, haha but i doubt it?

NOTE: In the professional world of eight ball, two shoots is given to the opponnent player, when the oppossing player has commited any foul, this means ( 2 shoots on any foul) even if his shirt touches the ball. (see: world rules 8 ball) the world rules are two shoots every foul, played by compition players in every country in the world, thus (world rules).

Hope this answers your question, good luck.

(did u know..if you pot a coloured ball of the break, and then continue to pot your coloured balls and then follow that with sinking the black, giving your opponent no shot whatsoever, then this is called a....MASTER BREAK!!

If a player -

pots the white
hits the wrong colour
pots an opponants ball without making 1st contact with a ball of their own.
a player jumps a ball.
the ball leaves the table
no ball is hit at all
the black is struck 1st.

2 shots rule varies, but in professional games

2 shots from where the ball lies or...
2 shots from anywhere behind the white line at the top end
1 shot from any location on the table you desire.

hope it helps.

Only EVER if u mess-up the break, then your opponent can decide on a re-rack and make you take it again.
Only play the 2-shot thing with the local 'talent' - for money.
Don't put up with it in your own bar.
If it's a coin-op table change your bar or tell the management to change it - it makes financial sense.

With local rules they play the way it was first made up in that pub, so the answer to your question is whenever they damn well please.

u get two shots when either your opponent pots a wrong ball before your or ball, when they pot the white, they can put it behind the line but if your in a league and some body moves they white without the refferee asking the other player will automatically get 2 shots

In Australia it depends what state you're playing in, haha!
Some include -
* when the white ball goes in the pocket
* when no balls are hit (including either the white or the white was hit but no others)
* when the white ball hits the 8 (black) ball
* when a ball gets hit off the table
Most pubs that have pool comps have a set of rules they run by - you always play by the pubs' rules over your own in that situation.
