I think that he was reading every single word of the reader in a stoic tone, and not improving a single word. The delivery of the speech was really bad. Luckily for him, he doesn't have to sell the U.S. his speech performance.

As for the speech, at about ten minutes I brought up the T.V. guide page and was looking for something else to watch. I continued to listen to it, but I wasn't heavily paying attention. It sort of sounded like his last speech.

I've honestly gotten to the point where I don't care what happens to Iraq; I don't live there.

He seem`s to be clutching at straws. He has put the onus on the Iraqi political system to come up with a little more help in combating the civil unrest. To help the Iraqi politicians to do this he is sending in more troops to combat the insurgents and to hold critical positions. This is fine, but i don`t believe the Iraqi prime minister is up to the task. Things are going to get bloody, very bloody. This is Bush`s last chance, and he knows it.

I would agree with Joe C 'cept there's not a whole lot left to bomb over there and whatever's left, the Iraqis are bombing themselves.

Adding more troops is kinda like trying to put out a fire by pouring gasoline on it. I predict that in the next two years America will do the same thing they did in Vietnam. Cut and run and let the Iraqis put their country back together.

It made me realize that there is no end in sight, that we are about to go to war with Iran and Syria; that there will be an all out draft and that bush will send us straight to hell on earth

I think we need planes with bombs over there if we're actually fighting to win, and I can't say I'm really in favor of sending too many more troops. Nor could I say that I would want to go, honestly.
