The current shia friends of US are friends of US just because they can easily settle scores with their enemies, see how the official witnessing Saddam execution shouted Muqtata Al Sadr's name, who is known for his anti US stand. Will these friends turn into US enemies once they had enough settling scores ?

You somehow seem to think that the Shia are a unified political block.

The fact of the matter is that the Shia faction you are talking about is the Al Sadr faction - which represents less than 10% of the Shia.

You have to be careful to avoid assuming that news media 'face time' represents the actual consensus opinion. The media will show you the dramatic things that produce ratings. This they will show Sadr but not Sistiani.

If you think about it. The French and most of the people we helped do the same. I guess we help to help and not for the return. Hopefully we get some good oil contracts for this one.
