Talking to a priest at your local church is a great start :)

Just ask them. Have a Home Blessing party and invite your friends and family. Maybe the priest will also do a house mass and that will give an even deeper blessing and protection. I had that done when I move here 20 years ago. We had a mass and then the priest went around with a Therifer and everything, real High Church and used holy water and a twig from a tree and blessed each room one by one. I would always have that done whenever I move to a new place.

You don't need a priest to bless your house. It's your house so who better to bless it then you.
Get some sage and some salt and pure water and go from room to room smudging and sprinkling the salt and water and pray, asking God to bless your house. You can find some Psalms and recite if you want. Make up your own ritual.
Priests are not X-men, they don't have any mutant or magical powers, your blessing is just as good as theirs.

well i would imagine that you would call the local priest, ask him to bless your house, and while he would probably do so for free, you should give him a monetary offering because there are other things he could be doing.

personally i would say you should do it yourself. that way its blessed with what you want it to be blessed with. it's known by new agers as smuging (burning sage while walking from room to room) and as a 'prayer walk' to christians.
simply put, walk through all the rooms of the house, if it's empty touch all the walls, doors windows or just stand in the middle of the room and wave the sage around, and pray that the home would be blessed with (insert whatever blessing you want on your home.)

Actually, a priest is going to want a bigger "donation" for the house call than your local Wiccan priestess. Plus, her incense usually smells better, and she won't go splashing everything with holy water and causing mold. You don't have to hide your young sons from her, either. They'll often leave a Brigid's cross on your door for free. A priest will send you an itemized bill for all his expendables, on top of the "donation." -Extra for gas if he has to travel more than 10 miles to your place.

Father thank you for this man. Thank You Lord for his house. Father in the name of Jesus Christ I commit his house into Your holy hands against any wicked spirit. In the name of Jesus Christ I cover his house with the blood of the lamb and build a hedge of protection around his house. In the name of Jesus I cansel every wicked plan coming from the neighbours and from the visitors.I crown Jesus Lord in this house in Jesus name.I proclaim that all who will come in this house will go back blessed in Jesus name. Ibind all those who will tempt to come in with problems in the name of Jesus Christ.I say no to sleepless night in this house in the name of Jesus and I say no to all night mares.
Man receive blessings and be a success for the year 2007.Amen
I am not a priest but God gave me the grace to pray for people..

why not bless your own house. blessing your own house will/ and has a lot more meaning than having someone else/ a stranger, do it. you could even have a house blessing party/gathering.
