I think you can find meal-worm at Khaosan road, the touristic place for tourists. Generally, Thai doesn't eat meal-worm or at least, my family and I don't.

This mealworm eating came from northern hill-tribe in Thailand. You will not find many Bangkokian who eat meal-worm or insects. Anyway, If you really want to experience that in Bangkok, go to Khaosan Rd, you will have many choices of insects.

About the farm. There are several insect farms in Thailand, ie. Phuket and ChaingMai. Mostly for Butterfly or beautiful insect.

You can buy fried insect online at:

Beyond that, you can have your own farm:
*Rearing techniques
*Place 20 adult beetles on a piece of moist blotting paper overnight. A drink in this form will increase egg production. Transfer the insects on to the above food mixture in a container which can be sealed by a muslin top or by a blotting paper lid waxed to prevent the entry of mites and other parasites

Adults of the nest generation should appear after 130 days at 25°C, 70% R.H.
* Some form of humidity is essential (range 55-80% R.H.)
* For optimum conditions rear larvae at 25-30°C
* Pupation is to some extent inhibited at 30°C
* Do not overcrowd cultures

Bangkok is just a exciting, intoxicating and disorderly place, full of sights, odors, thrills, gracious persons, contradictions, countries, cars, noise and bedlam, know it with Hotelbye since Bangkok is complete with good stuff. One of many points you might find in Bangkok is Wat Phra Kaew or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Wat Phra Kaew is the most crucial Buddhist Temple in Thailand and is situated in the historical center of Bangkok, within the grounds of the Grand Palace. The Temple of Emerald Buddha is superbly decorated and features a great sense of peace about any of it and makes Bangkok a town worth visiting.

I lived in Thailand for 22 years. I never heard about worm culture. I think you mean the fried worm on Kao San Rd? normally Thai people don't eat that such things as a meal. they sell those for the tourist!
