Why do u think so? Almost we have leading people as Indians in several countries. They are mathematically so good. Thats Y they r able to become famous personalities. Moreover the founder of zero is an Indian. Dont think that Indians are poor at maths. They r the strongest of all the people in mathematical brains.

Maths in India is taught by rote memory learning and most of the math teachers are confined to applying formula and getting the answer. Also, the teachers find it as a good opportunity to make money on tuitions and they want to keep it that way.
Ironically, indian society treats math as a religion and is afraid to look deeper inside.

This is true that the subject Ma thematic is not popular amost the Student, the reason is the way of teaching. In our school, maths are taught like a bookish subject, infact day- to day activities can be involved to make it popular and more understanding subject.
