Anything from getting Your hands sticky,... to,... ?
It depends on what the 'crime'-was,....'murder' would be 'tampering with a crime-scene'.....etc.
Hell, I've seen 'police-tape' surrounding "raves" plenty of times,....it really depends on WHY the tape was placed there.

I'm not sure what the other responder was saying about tampering with evidence being a Federal crime (unless it was a Federal crime scene).
What I would have done with you was find out why you did this?
Was it an accident, or pure bad judgement, or were you trying to obstruct my duty, or what?
If you did it pure and simple as a smart aleck you can't tell me what to do, or whatever, you could be looking at anything from:
Criminal Damage to Property (what you would call vandalism),
Obstruct Official Duty (self explanantory probably),
Criminal Tresspass if you went around the crime scene tape.
When we worked the Oklahoma City bombing and people went around the crime scene tape to be gawkers, or news people trying for a scoop, they were charged with Criminal Tresspass.
The worst thing you can do is try and enter a serious crime scene like a homicide, or armed robbery. Usually the detective or lieutenant in charge of the scene will be a person who has very little patience for other officers, let alone someone jacking with their crime scene.
I would suppose it would be possible for them to charge you with aiding and abetting if they thought you were trying to damage evidence which would really get you a nice stay in jail.
So, leave the stunts for the guys on COPS who are dying to be on TV and go to jail.

If the police are feeling generous, you can be charged with disorderly conduct or failure to follow police instructions. If they are in a really bad mood, they can add on 'interfering with an investigation'
